“So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them.” – Genesis 1:27
In this age of data and information we are taught that the ‘theologians’ of modern man are highly sophisticated and more advanced than ever before. We are born into a dying world that can only offer us the tomb- nothing beyond it. We were created to live in full communion with God, but our ever decaying world wants us to take no part in Him. In schools, museums, national parks, and every public place we are taught that we are made in the image of a monkey. Truth seekers are silenced and any image of God is stripped from us. Without God, we create a spiritual vacuum within ourselves, attempting to keep ourselves alive. This spiritual vacuum will never be filled. It is only left to feed on the deteriorating inventions of modern man.
Some sadly sell themselves into debauchery. Taking influence from what they have learned from an early age on the countless billboards, bus signs, and television programs about the so-called glamour of pornography and or dressing provocatively. Some sell themselves into the world of drugs and alcohol, an illusion of ‘happiness’ that only lasts for so long. All these paths lead to a spiritual death. Without finding our way back to the God we once had in the womb, if we do not return to God, despair sets in. There is nothing else to hope for. The methods of man have failed, and without God, the soul will die. This often leads to suicide. When one becomes spiritually dead, it seems only logical to them to attain the same state physically.
This is a sad thing, something that has become rampant among teenagers today. In 2000 suicide was the third leading cause of death among 15-24 year olds, and sadly also the third leading cause among children 10-14. It is clear that man has not evolved, but rather devolved trying to live on his own without Christ and it has failed him. God is compassionate, merciful, and has loved us from birth. God desired to be closer to us and became man in the womb of a Virgin. He desired to suffer with us, walking among His creation, that we would be drawn unto Him. Because of this Christ is not a God of empathy, but rather of sympathy, He knows our afflictions from the height of His Cross. Before and after His glorious ascension He has wiped the tears and healed the languish of so many. He does not desire the death of a sinner but that all might be gathered unto Him. Draw yourselves back unto Him, o ye people, let Him heal you, place your hope in the Lord.
“But thou [art] he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope [when I was] upon my mother’s breasts.”-Psalm 22:9
